Michael has built a lot of different things in his career, from an indexing system for CAD diagrams for a dockside crane to the UK’s first high volume online recruitment platform. Over the last ten years, he has transitioned from the initial focus on building technology to the much more complex job of building the teams that create great things. Most recently, this includes stints leading the Financial Crime engineering team at Monzo, scaling the driver profiling startup MyDrive where he ended up as CTO, and, in his current role, helping people prepare for and deal with death as VP of Engineering at Farewill.
